A Mid Victorian flame mahogany secretaire Wellington Chest.c.1865. Seven graduated drawers with a fall front double drawer to the center. Fitted with satinwood drawers, pigeon holes and writing surface. Original turned handles and Acanthus leaf supports to the top. Side locking bar with working lock and plinth base. Good original color & patina. Measures 23" x 17" x 48"high
An English cabinet or chest of mahogany, fondly known as a Wellington, featuring a molded top over six drawers of ascending size (top to bottom).
The third and fourth drawers with faux front (giving an overall appearance of seven drawers), opening to a fitted secretary with four cupboards and two drawers and lined in curly maple.
The inside fall front with felt writing surface.
Flanked by pilasters, one locking (without key), with stylized acanthus-carved corbels, on plinth base.
